Hi Friends and Loved Ones,
What exciting times we live in. I know so many are worried these days. My daughter lives in southern California, and she is a growing Christian. She said to me that she has had this sense of impending doom that she cannot seem to escape. I must say I was quite surprised but feel pretty sure that she is not alone in this. There is so much to be concerned about today. This reminds me of the Scripture verse about men's hearts failing them for fear in the end times. I reminded her that God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power, and love, and of a sound mind in 2 Tim. 1:7. I feel pretty certain that we are seeing the beginning of a time where the real Christians will become evident in the peace they have from God and all who are playing church and being religious will also become very evident by their lack of peace. This is and will continue to be a time when all the Bible study you have ever done will become very important. Those who have spent time in God's word will know God, his character, and his great and precious promises to us. This is fast becoming a time when all you know of God through his word will sustain you and all you think you know but are not able to put your faith in will fail you. One cannot know true peace when your faith is in an idea, a feeling, or in something you heard someone say. But what you know from God's holy word, what you have read and understand will minister to your soul and sustain you for the Holy Spirit will bless it to your life.
Having said that, let me share with you what worries me. I'm worried that America and American Christians will become so focused on what we perceive our problems to be that we will ignore what is really going on in the world. For instance did you know that Syria has been building two really large naval bases on the Medd. in Syria? This paves the way for a naval blockade of Israel. Did you catch the fact that an international body reported this week that Iran will have a nuclear weapon this year? Can you see the enemies of Israel getting closer and closer to the day they will attack Israel in mass, and I don't mean just terrorists but a Russian led, Russian equipped army of millions attacking Israel from Lebanon, Syria, Iran, and even Africa? Does that give you pause? If you know your Bible it should. Are we so focused on our finances and our stuff that we are missing this opportunity to witness and share Christ because we are too self absorbed? What a great deception Satan is working in our nation.
If you are truly a Christian then you should believe and know that God is going to take care of your needs. As for your stuff, surely you don't think that is going to heaven with you??? This is the time when we should be reading God's word like never before. This is the time when we should be learning God's promises and experiencing his great love so we can share it with others. Yes, there is plenty to worry about, but how big is your God? I pray your God is bigger than your problems. I pray your fear of God is big enough to cause you to seek his face and share him with others. I pray your love of God is strong enough to put others before self and simply know you will be taken care of and even loved of God through it all.
